Lady Doris Hardy eminently serves in the ministry with a wide background of experience. She was ordained an Eldress by the deceased Bishop L.E. Willis of Virginia. Prior to being ordained, she served as a licensed evangelist missionary.
Lady Doris Hardy walks in dignity and distinction beside her husband, The Honorable Bishop G. Wesley Hardy, prelate of the Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Virginia, COGIC, and Pastor of the Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ. She has been a supporting anchor since the beginning of their marriage and ministry. She assists her husband in the pastorate of Cathedral of Faith C.O.G.I.C. as Administrative Assistant. There she supervises the Director of Women’s Ministry and other groups in the church. She serves as Teacher of the Discipleship Class for new members. She has served in many capacities in the church: Choir Director, Supt. of the Sunday School Department, Pastor’s Aid worker, Youth Leader, Teacher, and Intercessor. She filled the gap wherever needed. Lady Hardy was the former Director of the Sunday School Teacher’s Training Program of Cathedral. As a teacher trainer, she is representative of the foundation builders needed in the body of Christ.
She has traveled with her husband overseas to conduct a crusade in Nigeria, Africa. Lady Hardy is an inspirational evangelistic speaker. She has an anointed ministry that inspires growth and development amongst the body of Christ.
She founded the Cathedral of Faith Book Store and managed it many years. She also served as Principal of the Cathedral of Faith Christian School for three years. Presently, she is the Program Administrator of the Cathedral of Faith Christian School.
She is a graduate of Norfolk State University, attaining a B. S. Degree in Business Education. She has done graduate study at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. Lady Hardy was a teacher of Early Childhood Education in the Portsmouth Public School System and teacher in Business Education in Norfolk State Evening College. She has been employed as Administrative Assistant of Arlan’s Dept. Stores, New York, Administrative Assistant of the C. H. Mason Bible College, Executive Secretary of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA), and Administrative Assistant of Willis Broadcasting.
Lady Doris Hardy is the author of the book, MY JOURNEY, which tells her story, her struggles in life, overcoming many odds and challenges, her path through the valleys and over the mountains encountered as she worked beside her husband, Bishop G. Wesley Hardy, as the leading lady in the church. It is an inspiration and encouragement to all to see how God can bless you to overcome no matter what difficulty you may face.
Lady Hardy was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She is the proud mother of four children: Pastor Giles Wesley Hardy, Jr., Missionary Glenda Griffin, Missionary Crystal Hardy, and Min. Pamela Hardy Reed. She has three wonderful son-in-laws: Rev. Kermit Griffin (Glenda), who is Assistant Pastor and Minister of Music of Cathedral of Faith; Min. Marcus Reed (Pamela); and Mr. Lunsford (Lance) A. Williams, Jr.(Crystal); one lovely daughter-in-law, Co-Pastor Veronica Hardy (Giles, Jr.). Presently, there are ten (10) precious grand-children: Kayla, Philip, Jarius, Marcus, Jr., Kenady, Joel, Josiah, Blake, Lance William-Sturge, and Lauren.
Eldress Hardy has dedicated her life to the work of the Lord. She strives to be a Godly example to women and men in the body of Christ.
